An Evening Of Dance
The Westfields Dancers all performed at their annual concert, An Evening Of Dance, last Friday 20th October at Parramatta
Riverside Theatres. The night was a huge success and was very well received by the sell-out crowd who came to watch and
support the dancers.
A highlight of the night was the teachers' dance group, who strutted their stuff to the 1970s tunes of Staying Alive and
You Should Be Dancing! All performers should be congratulated on their wonderful performance. We are looking forward to
Twenty Year 12 students recently sat the Australasian Economics Competition and gained an amazing four credits and sixteen
passes; excellent results. There were 40 questions, and we were way above state average in 32 of them. Well done, Team Eco!
Westpac Australian Mathematics Competition
Earlier this year, 231 Westfields students sat for the Westpac Australian Mathematics Competition. Our students achieved two High Distinctions, thirteen Distinctions and 85 Credits.
Special mention must be made of Year 8 student Adam Mammoliti who achieved High Distinctions in both the Junior and Senior sections of the Competition. Adam has been following a pathway of acceleration in Mathematics since Year 4. He will be recognised for his achievements at a formal presentation later this term.
We extend our congratulations to all students who took part in this prestigious competition.
Head Teacher - Mathematics
Both the senior and junior boys' teams played in the State Schools Cup in the holidays. Both teams came third. This was an
improvement for the juniors, who came ninth in their last tournament.
Training continues this term on Monday and Wednesday after school. All are welcome. We are currently looking for local Year
7 boys and girls who want to get fit and learn some skills.
The Seniors are preparing for the Nationals in Melbourne in December. They will be having a showcase game against the PE
