Many thanks to the students, teachers and parents who attended Russell Carneys funeral. It was a moving occasion and very important in the greaving process. A special thanks to our piper Lachlan. Russell will be fondly remembered. At last Wednesdays assembly I handed out study timetables and organisational resources to year 12 students. The trial HSC is over but there is a great deal of time which can be used effectly to build upon strengths and address problems. Students learnt the importance to themselves and their classmates of remaining for the full time of each examination. Congratulations to the students and Mr Symes for the school photograph. They were excellent something of which we can all be proud. A number of year 11 students have been developing their singing skills and their presentations at recent assemblies brought the house down. I hope there will be a public performance very soon. Their rendition of their own composition - 'Westfields Sports' - was inspirational. Congratulations to Shannon Hill and Scott Burriss who are now in Scotland at the junior Commonwealth Games representing Australia. Congratulations to the students and teachers involved in the recent All-Schools (public and private) State Championships successes: ---------------------* Basketball-Open Boys & Open Girls ----------------* Track & Field-Open Boys ------------------------------------Open Girls ------------------------------------Junior Girls ------------------------------------Junior Boys --------------------* Cross Country-12 Yrs Boys ------------------------------------12 Yrs Girls ------------------------------------14 Yrs Boys David Welch is performing outstandingly on his current tour of the USA with the Australian Baseball Team.
