I have written to all Year 12 students and the parents of Year 10 students informing them that academic assistance is available and that the 'holiday' break can be used effectively to better prepare for the forthcoming examinations.
Year 12 must be utilising their time between now and the HSC to build upon their results. If help is required, please let us know. Tutorials will be available in the holidays.
Congratulations to all the students and teachers participating in the Games ceremonies - dancers, singers, medal presentation assistants - enjoy this special time.
Congratulations to the Open Netball, Open Rugby League, Open Boys and Girls Soccer teams upon your state championship successes - an outstanding achievement.
Enjoy the break and have a safe relaxing time.

The lodd of the hall to fire last yearmeant that all senior exams have to be held in the library. However, we have tried to minimise disruption to library usage for students, giving them access whenever it was possible and advising them of any change to opening times through the student daily notices. We will continue to do so in Term 4.

Girls Tennis Final On 17-20 July the girls tennis team travelled to Tamworth to compete in the Floris Conway State Knockout Final. After a bye in the first round they had an impressive second round win under wonderful sunny almost summer like conditions.
In the semi final they played a very tough match against North Sydney Girls, a very experienced senior team, (the eventual winner) and narrowly lost 5 sets to 3.
This was n excellent result for such a young team comprised of mainly Year 7 and Year 8 students. We look forward to much success in the future as these players' developement continue.

Tennis in Snow
On 14, 15 & 16 of August the boys tennis team travelled to Lithgow to play in the Stan Jones State knockout Final. On Tuesday the temperatures reached a high of 10oC as we battled in extreme cold and windy weather conditions for a place in the final against Lithgow. Unfortunately we lost 4-2 which meant we would have to play against Girraween for 3/4th place.
Wednesday morning we woke to falling snow ans cars piled high with snow, unfortunately this meant that tennis was out for the day and Westfields were declared equal third. At least there was some consolation in that although tennis wasn't played, snow fights abounded and the cars were cleared of snow.
