IT didn't take long for English scouts from Liverpool Football Club to spot 15-year-old at the National Youth
Football Championships in October 2006.
Jared, of Baulkham Hills, stood out with his football skillsas he played in centre-minfield positionin the
championship at Coffs Harbour.
Jared has been selected for the 30-man Australian Joeys squad for the under-17 World Cup in 2009 in Nigeria.
The Westfields Sports student is yhe Hills Shire Times Junior Sports Star nominee this week.
Jared left for Liverpool, England, on Thursday to spend a fortnight living and training with the Liverpool
Youth Academy.
"If they like what they see, they will call me back." Jared, who has been playing football for 10 years said.
Jared wants to play the sport professional in the future.
"When I was little it was my dream to play professional soccer," he said.
Jared played for Blacktown City Demons last year and this year switched to play for under-15 Sydney Premier
League team Sydney Wanderers of Fairfield.
He has also played for the Wanderers under-16 and under-18 teams.
Jared had a go at playing in the undre-20 NSW Institute of Sports team against premier league teams.
He also enjoyed the thrill of playing with Sydney FC in July in a training game against Sydney University.
Earlier this month Jared played for the Joeys team in Japan at the under-16 Toyota Youth Championships against Japan, South Korea and the US.
