Juggling a Rugby League career with the eyes of every talent scout in
Australia on him, Joven had his best ever season in Track & Field.
Joven clearly asserted his dominance as the number one under 18 years sprinter in the
country. His silver medal performance in the 2000 Pacific School Games was the proof,
and it was only the South African runner that just pipped him on the finish line.
Joven won all the State Schools titles in 1999 over 100 metres, and Silver in both
the 100m and 200m at the Australian All Schools.
Football commitments prevented him contesting the NSW Championships, but Joven
took time out to run the National Junior Championships, albeit full of lactic
acid from football training.
