The Westfields Sports Cricket Program offers both theoretical and practical components designed to enrich the students' knowledge of cricket and enhance skill performance.

Courses Offered Year 7/8 Sport Enrichment is an introduction to the program and is designed to enhance the identified playing talents of junior students and further develop their skills and enjoyment in the game. Year 9/10 Applied Sport Studies is an elective subject chosen for study over two years as a component for the School Certificate. This course offers a more advanced content with more emphasis being placed on theoretical components to be accredited for the School Certificate. Year 11/12 Applied Sport Studies is a continuation of the 9/10 Program with extra tuition of skills and performance to ensure maximum and ongoing development.

    Course Structure
All courses consist of two double period sessions per week during the school year. Practical activities are based on development of skills in all aspects of batting, bowling, fielding, wicket keeping and game tactics. Theoretical activities include exercise and fitness, psychology, principles of training, laws of cricket, injury prevention, nutrition, history of cricket, leadership and coach education.
